Ways YOU can get involved:

Preparation

You strive to live your lives so that others may see Jesus in you.  But living your life quietly is not enough - you need to Live Out Loud by telling people about the One who makes the difference in your life.  Make your plans now to start Living Out Loud at our full-day training session and learn to share Jesus with others in non-threatening ways that fit your personality. 

Next scheduled training: Saturday, January 12 from 9 AM –  3 PM. 

$20 fee (provides materials, childcare, and lunch).

Welcome Wagon Visits

- Goal:  Welcome families moving to the area, provide helpful information to families moving the area, increase awareness of and goodwill toward our church in the community, invite people to visit River Springs Church, bring people to saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

- Join a team visiting newcomers to the area with freshly baked cookies and a packet of information about our community, River Springs Church, and Jesus. 

- Prepare for opportunities to share Jesus during visits through attending Live Out Loud.  You can pair up with a previously trained member until you can attend training.

- Time commitment:  1 ½ hours per month on a Sunday afternoon.

Church Visitor Phone Calls

-  Goal:  Make visitors to our church feel welcome, encourage visitors to visit again, establish connection between church visitors and members, bring people to saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

- Call visitors to our church to welcome them and answer any questions they may have about River Springs Church.  

- If desired by the church visitor, schedule a visit to get to know the family better and answer questions in person.  Visits are made by church member teams of two.

- Prepare for opportunities to share Jesus during visits through attending Live Out Loud.  You can pair up with a previously trained member until you can attend training.

- Time commitment:  1 hour every ~ 8 weeks.

Event Postcards

- Goal: Invite people to visit River Springs Church, bring people to saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

- Write postcards to visitors to outreach events to welcome them and invite them to River Springs Church services.

- Time commitment:  2 hours per event (~ 6 times per year).

Cookie Ministry

- Goal:  Welcome families moving to the area, increase awareness of and goodwill toward our church in the community, invite people to visit River Springs Church, bring people to saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

- Bake 7 – 8 dozen homemade cookies for delivery during Welcome Wagon visits and prepare 8 – 10 welcoming tags for cookie bags.  The tags should list the type of cookie and contact information for River Springs Church – a template is available.

-  Time commitment:  2 hours every 4 – 6 months.

Prayer Ministry

-  Goal:  Provide prayer coverage for times when church members are reaching out to people in Jesus’ name, bring people to saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

- Pray with a group or individually before the worship service on Sundays at 10:00 AM.  Prayer focus is for the salvation of seekers in the community, seekers that may attend the worship service, and specific seekers to whom church members are ministering.

- Pray with a group or individually during Welcome Wagon visits.  Prayer focus is for the salvation of seekers in the community, the leadership of the Holy Spirit in Welcome Wagon visits, and for the team members participating in Welcome Wagon visits.

-  Time commitment:  1 hour per month on a Sunday afternoon OR 20 minutes per month on a Sunday morning.

Prayer Ministry Coordinator

-         Schedule dates with Outreach Director.

-        Assign dates to prayer teams.

-         Communicate schedule to prayer teams.

-         Recruit people to prayer teams.

-        Remind participants of dates/times of commitment.

-         Collect prayer requests from church members about specific seekers to whom church members are ministering; collect prayer requests from outreach team members.

-         Distribute prayer requests to prayer teams.

-         Encourage and affirm participants.

-        Time Commitment:  additional 1 hour per month

Martha Ministry

-   Goal:  Connect periodic church visitors and new members (less than 1 year) with church members to increase belonging.

-  Invite an assigned family new to River Springs Church to share a meal with your family at a restaurant or at your home.

-  Time commitment:  1 ½ hours per month.

Martha Ministry Coordinator

-         Collect names of periodic church visitors and new members from Outreach Director.

-         Assign periodic church visitors and new members to participating church member families.

-         Communicate schedule to participants.

-         Recruit church members to participate in Martha Ministry.

-         Encourage and affirm participants.

-         Time commitment: additional 1 hour per month
