River Springs Church

Parents’ Night Out

Help us spread the word about our Parents’ Night Out this Saturday, September 8 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. This is an outreach event of RSC, so plan to help us Saturday evening with childcare, the meal, etc.

New Series of Messages

A new sermon series begins on September 9. This will be a thrilling look into the results and blessings of God’s Grace. The new series is called “Trophies of Grace” and every message will emphasize and illustrate a truth from the Bible about what grace is and why it’s so important. Each Sunday will be an excellent opportunity for your friends, neighbors, seekers and newcomers to hear how great God’s Grace really is.

Ladies Night Out at Yamato’s

This Friday night the women of River Springs are meeting for a fellowship dinner at Yamato’s (Yum!Yum!). Our plan is to meet at 6:30 and enjoy some time of fun and fellowship! Sign up in the lobby today or contact Lori at 732-5885 or noahsmommmy@bellsouth.net before Thursday so we can make the reservations!

Friday Morning

We meet two more Friday mornings (Sep. 7 & Sep. 14) at 6:30 a.m. at the church for light breakfast, fellowship, prayer, and Bible study. We are going through In the Grip of Grace by Max Lucado which is an excellent portrait of the book of Romans.

Authentic Manhood

Don't forget that we will be starting The Quest for Authentic Manhood on Thursday, September 20, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. For more information go to http://www.mensfraternity.com/html/Product-Quest.asp . This webpage has a summary of the study, acomplete list of Chapter titles, as well as three sample videos so you can see the way Robert Lewis presents the material.

Date & Time of Meeting Change

We hear you. Feedback and suggestions about out upcoming start of Men’s Fraternity – The Quest For Authentic Manhood has led us to change the meeting day and time. Instead of early on Friday mornings, we’ll meet on Thursday evenings, 7 to 8:30, starting September 20. Contact Scott Mooney, 732.5885, smooney@bellsouth.net for more information.

Fall Softball

River Springs will have a men’s team in the fall softball league at Crooked Creek Park in Chapin. Games will be on Monday nights and will start September 10. Registration fee is $30 per man.

Let Jimmy Parris jimmy.parris@gmail.com know right away if you’d like to be on the roster. Practice will be this Thursday night, September 6th from 6:30 – 8:30p.m. at CC Park Field #3.

Evangelism Class

If you’re a follower of Jesus, you’ve been given the greatest gift that a person can receive. That gift is meant to be shared, and God’s plan is that each believer be ready and able and willing to share the Good News about Jesus. To help you with that, River Springs Church is offering a one-day workshop on how to share the gospel. We teach you how to use a variety of communication methods and have confidence within your personality and style. Women’s Retreat

Indulge yourself at the Women’s Chocolate Boutique Retreat scheduled for November 2-3 in Cedar Ridge, NC. During the Sunday 10:25 worship service, our Preschool Ministry provides a warm, caring atmosphere with excellent teachers for children birth through kindergarten. Parents should check in their preschoolers before the 10:25 worship starts.

We have a Children’s Worship time for children in 1st through 5th grades. School aged kids are invited to come to worship at 10:25 with their parents and then, after the puppets and a song, the children will exit together to go to Children’s Worship. It’s a great time of fun learning about the Bible.

v CrossTraining – Our youth meet on Sunday nights at 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. It’s called CrossTraining and youth in 6th grade through 12th grade are encouraged to come to the church for a multi-dimensional multi-faceted multi-multi great time of fun, fellowship and learning. Wednesday Nights at River Springs

God intends for you to not just come to church, but become part of a local church. You really experience the fellowship of River Springs Church by coming to Bible study and small groups on Wednesday nights. We provide Kid’s Klub for children in first through fifth grade and we provide preschool childcare for babies through K5. These go from 6:45 to 8:30 p.m.

At 7:00, Pastor Tim and Pastor Jimmy lead interesting Bible study and interactive discussion about the Bible texts. This is a great way to learn more about what the Bible says and where it says it. Then we meet in small groups to talk and pray for each other. We dismiss at 8:30 so parents can get their children and so worship team rehearsal can begin, but those who can often linger a while in the lobby to enjoy good conversation.

New Ladies Study

Our Women’s Bible study meets Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. at the Mooney’s house! It’s the Beth Moore study called When Godly People Do Ungodly Things. For more info contact Lori Mooney at 732-5885.

www.crosswalk.com is a terrific site for excellent daily devotions, Christian networking, news, and items of interest to Christians. The site also has a free and fast Bible concordance that is well indexed in many translations.

www.imb.org is the site of the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. It contains news stories about missionaries and missions volunteers in projects around the world. This site will help you know how to pray for the spread of the gospel.

www.scbaptist.org is the site of the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Here you’ll find information about events, seminars, conferences, resources, mission projects, and ministries that are available to members of churches like River Springs Church.
