Trophies of Grace
We’re
in a new Sunday morning message series that looks into the results and
blessings of God’s Grace. The new series
is called “Trophies of Grace” and every message will emphasize and illustrate a
truth from the Bible about what grace is and why it’s so important.
·
Each Sunday will be an excellent opportunity for your friends,
neighbors, seekers and newcomers to hear how great God’s Grace really is. 10-7 Message: “I Am Who I Never Dreamed I’d
Be”, a first-person in-character monologue, a drama of grace.
·
10-14 Message: “What A
Change!” (Transforming Grace)
·
10-21 Message: “Free At
Last!” (Liberating Grace)
·
10-28 Message: “How Sweet
The Sound”
·
Each Wednesday, we go deeper into the Bible’s rich storehouse
about how we can live in God’s Grace.

Baptism – October 14
Believer’s
Baptism is a marvelous picture of God’s grace.
The new believer is baptized to obey Jesus, to follow His example, and
to commemorate the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. And most of all,
baptism shows that the old is dead and the new is alive. It symbolizes the new life of the new
believer. “If anyone is in Christ, he is
a new creation. Old things are passed away. Behold! All things have become
new!” 2 Corinthians 5:17. We are having a River Springs Baptism service
on Sunday evening, October 14. Contact
Pastor Tim, jaredhannahpop@aol.com
, if you are ready to be baptized.

Election Commission Polling Place
River Springs
Church sees its building as a gift from God to be used as an instrument for Him
and as a resource for the community.
We’re happy to be the meeting place for many home owners associations,
community meetings, and Relay For Life team meetings. Now we are an official polling place for the
Spring Hill precinct. Check your new
voter registration card to see where you vote and remember to vote on Tuesday,
November 6.
Halloween
Since October 31 is a Wednesday, we’re just getting
together to have some fun. Wear a
costume if you like. Come and stay or
just drop by while trick-or-treating.
We’ll have a bonfire, a hayride, some corndogs, and some games. 6:00
to 8:00 p.m.
County Councilman Bill Malinowski
In
an effort to hear from and serve his constituents, Richland County Councilman
Bill Malinowski is available at the River
Springs Church
Community Center on the
fourth Thursday night of each month at 7
p.m. Anyone is invited to
drop by and speak with the councilman.

Referendum on School District
Five
As
pastor, I do not endorse political candidates or political parties. I have found that they all have to compromise
too much in order to get anything done.
I do speak to moral issues that confront us and I sometimes give a point
of view as the senior pastor of River
Springs Church
about issues that may affect the church.
I
support the passage of the District Five bond referendum because I am a parent
actively involved in many school activities.
I see the need. But the main
reason that I support a Yes vote on the upcoming referendum is that its passage
will greatly benefit River
Springs Church
in many ways. A new middle and high
school built in five or six years very near River Springs’ location will
enlarge our influence and dramatically increase our opportunities for missions
and evangelism. This would put RSC right in the hub of a new community. I foresaw this when I was led by God to start
River Springs and as God led us to our location. What God has done in and through us so far is
only prologue to the real River Springs story that He is writing. You can go to
the district five web page athttp://www.lex5.k12.sc.us and click on
the facilities tab for more information.
Malisa Johnson has offered to answer any questions you might have about
it. malisajohnson@bellsouth.net
I
respect those who have determined themselves to vote against anything that
might raise our taxes. I understand that. Nevertheless I am an advocate for what’s best
for RSC and I invite our members to consider voting Yes on the referendum on
November 6. Pastor
Tim

During the
Sunday 10:25 worship
service, our Preschool Ministry provides
a warm, caring atmosphere with excellent teachers for children birth through
kindergarten. Parents should check in
their preschoolers before the 10:25
worship starts.
We have a Children’s
Worship time for children in 1st through 5th
grades. School aged kids are invited to
come to worship at 10:25
with their parents and then, after the puppets and a song, the children will
exit together to go to Children’s Worship. It’s a great time of fun learning
about the Bible.
We have a
complimentary tape of this morning’s
message for you at the Tapes table. Previous
messages are available at www.riversprings.org
Please fill
out your connection card and put it
in the offering basket which will be passed in the middle of the service, just
before the message.

Wednesday
Nights at River Springs
God intends for you to not just come to church, but become part of a
local church. You really experience the
fellowship of River
Springs Church
by coming to Bible study and small groups on Wednesday nights. We provide Kid’s Klub for children in first
through fifth grade and we provide preschool childcare for babies through
K5. These go from 6:45 to 8:30
p.m.
At 7:00, Pastor Tim
and Pastor Jimmy lead interesting Bible study and interactive discussion about
the Bible texts. This is a great way to
learn more about what the Bible says and where it says it. Then we meet in small groups to talk and pray
for each other. We dismiss at 8:30 so
parents can get their children and so worship team rehearsal can begin, but
those who can often linger a while in the lobby to enjoy good conversation.
New Ladies Study
Our Women’s Bible study meets Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. at the Mooney’s house! It’s the Beth Moore study called Daniel.
