OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD – You Can Do It!
This Christmas, you can share the love and hope of Jesus Christ with a needy child in a country like Uganda or El Salvador by using a simple shoe box. Operation Christmas Child is an easy missions project that every member and family can participate in by bringing a gift-filled shoe box to church by November 13. Details are outlined in the Operation Christmas Child brochure. Pick up a brochure at church and make your box. http://www.samaritanspurse.org/OCC_Index.asp
Christmas Boxes for Soldiers
For Christmas, we will send a box to every unit we support. A list of the items we are collecting is at the Soldiers’ Ministry display table. What we need most is help to send a Christmas card to every soldier in each unit, about 100 cards. Please take the time to do this small thing, which means so much. The deadline is November 19. Contact Lyn Polk for more information.
Reasons to write a Christmas card:
They have volunteered to be away from home, family and friends for us.
It is a way to minister without spending any money, even on gas.
There are no atheists in foxholes.
Many soldiers do not hear from their families, even at Christmas.
For them, there is no peace on earth, but we can share good will toward men.
Kids’ Night and Wednesday Night Childcare is from 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. each Wednesday so parents can drop off their kids at 6:45 and make it to their small groups which go from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Preschool Small Groups Childcare is for preschoolers (babies through Kindergarten) whose parents attend a Wednesday night small group. The children play and sing songs and have a great time.
Kids’ Night is for children in 1st through 5th grades. They have a high energy time of learning and fun. The lessons go along with the curriculum that the kids have on Sunday mornings in Kidventure/All-Stars. Even if parents don’t go to a Wednesday night small group, we want school age kids to come to Kids’ Night.
Small Groups are helping with Kid’s Night and Childcare:
