You are invited to join us for good food, fellowship, and fireworks at Dreher Island State Park on Saturday, June 29th. We have two shelters #9 & #10 reserved on the shoreline of Lake Murray starting at 10:00 am until after the 4th of July Fireworks celebration that evening. It is recommended to come early for the day of fun because the park will fill up by early afternoon in anticipation of the Annual Fireworks show.

We will have a late lunch together at 2:30 pm. We will provide a BBQ Pig and Smoked Chicken and are asking people to sign up to bring a side (green beans, baked beans, salads), drinks (soda & Tea), chips, watermelons, fruit to go along with the meats. You could also sign up for sunscreen or bug spray to share.

We ask that everyone who has a cooler to bring it with plenty of ice to keep foods & drinks cool throughout the day/evening.

We will have a few organized games for all ages. Some activities for fun – corn hole, horseshoes, Frisbees, and hula-hoops. We recommend you bring camp chairs to have comfortable fellowship and view the fireworks. Bring any floats, kayaks, canoes, swimmies or life jackets you want/need to use for swimming. There is plenty of space to pull your boat up to the bank at our shelters and for swimming. You can enjoy fishing, hiking trails, walking or bicycling by bringing your equipment. There is plenty of shade, parking, and restrooms at our shelters.

There is NO parking fee, but there is an entrance fee of $2.00 per person over the age of 16 in your vehicle. If you are active military, retired military, over the age of 65 or disabled you can get in free but need to tell them at the entrance gate.

Plan to stay and enjoy the Fireworks Display as it is always one of the best in the state. Plan to come early because the gates will close when the park is at capacity for the safety of everyone.

Our shelters (9 & 10) are on Sweet Gum Circle. Grab a map, RSVP and sign up for what you can bring at the Welcome Table. We will need a head count by June 23rd. We'd love to have you and your family come and join us for this awesome day of fun and fellowship. Contact Jimmy Parris or Terry Adkins if you have any questions or would like to help organize games or carry needed supplies to the park.
